Allergic to Dairy

So, after a month and a half of diareah, we finally figured out what's going on with Amy's bowels:
She is allergic to dairy -- now, for any of you out there who might be facing the same thing, let me give you a tip that I wasn't aware of from my Pediatrician.

Children who are allergic to milk, are usually allergic to a protein in the milk, he said... and that protein is also in soy milk (we'd tried a week of soy milk with no improvement). My Pediatrician said NO milk, soymilk, almond milk, rice milk or whatever for a week... just juice, water, good fruits and veggies and a multi-vitamin till we could ascertain what was happening.

After a day on juice and water without the soy milk, her stools solidified... even with eating peaches, cherries and the like. I am very happy and encouraged. Now, I only hope that it's a temporary issue. She ate dairy just fine before her bad case of diareah the beginning of May. We'll see what happens, but that's it for now.

Stuff like that is always reassuring when you know what's going on. Glad you got it figured out. Congrats on the little one on the way!
