Here are some pictures of Ryan's birthday -- almost a month late (whoops). He had a good birthday; he wanted to get a pinata for the kids, and it was a lot of fun. Ryan also got some bees and he's LOVING having them.
This little peanut has been different from the others. With Amy and Esther I had 7-12 hours of labor and then would check in at the hospital and I was a 5. Right now, I'm a 4-5 and have hardly any contractions... an occasional cramping here or there, sometimes some lower pressure...
I was spending too much time worrying about when this baby was going to come, or trying to get things going... I have now decided just to chill... just wait and go about my life like normal; go ahead with planting in the yard, washing the windows, doing the laundry, cleaning up the house, playing in the yard with the kids etc -- and trust that eventually this little baby will come out and HOPING that when that time comes that my midwife and doula get here in time. Thankfully my Mom has come to stay for the week, and I am VERY grateful for that and for her help.

If it makes you feel any better, I was dilated to 5 for a few weeks before Jack was born. We thought his birth was going to be lightning fast, but I labored all night and had only progressed to 6 cm by morning. So, I asked my midwife to break my water and Jack was born 30 minutes later. Same story with Stella, only I walked around at 6 cm for a couple of weeks.
Point is, early dilation doesn't necessarily lead to speedy labor. And on the other hand, if this baby does come super fast, it's comforting to know that the babies that come too fast are rarely the ones that have problems.
Hang in there!
